Details come from the Customs Department’s published listing. Licences and bonds renew by 31 March each year. If something here is out of date, the listing itself is the place to check.

Before you call

• Ask for a written quote for the entry, and ask which port charges and landing fees sit outside it.
• Have the invoice, proof of payment and shipping documents ready. A broker cannot file a C13 without them.
• For a vehicle, give the engine size and year up front. They decide the duty rate, from 10% to 65%.
