Details come from the Customs Department’s published listing. Licences and bonds renew by 31 March each year. If something here is out of date, the listing itself is the place to check.
Before you call
- Know your number first. Run the item through the estimator so you can tell a fair Customs charge from a padded one.
- Ask what the handling fee is per package and per pound. It is the courier’s own charge, separate from duty, fee, levy and VAT.
- Keep the order confirmation with the price. Customs values goods on what you actually paid, and the courier files from it.
